Textile printing with Self-adhesive film

Textile printing with Self-adhesive film

Almost every jersey of football players or other team sports with a number and name is created in textile printing with Self-adhesive film. This method is very suitable for logos, names, numbering and not too finely detailed logos.

Vorteile:

  • good hiding power and washability
  • cost effective for short runs
  • individual names and numbers are possible
  • optimal for lettering

Disadvantages:

  • no fine details or small fonts possible
  • Selection of print colors is limited to the vinyl film colors
  • only single color prints (with exceptions up to max. 3 colors)
  • the more complex the subject (eg. many small letters or small details) the more complex and more expensive

How does Self-adhesive film work?

You give us a a digital template (best vectorized, but also any other Profesional Graphics format).
In the plotter machine the colored film is inserted. The file is sent to the machine. A plotter can be thought of as a printer, but instead of a print head it has a cutting knife. The path points to the vector file defining the cutting path. The pre-cut film will be cut, ie. the part of the film that is not to be printed is removed manually. Thereafter, the design is placed onto the fabric and applied by means of a transfer press by means of pressure and heat.
